Alvin Greene for president!

Looking ahead to 2010, not much would be more amusing than an Alvin Greene run for the White House.

You remember the mysterious Mr. Greene, right, the surprise, out-of-nowhere winner of the Democratic nomination for Senate from South Carolina who ended up getting destroyed by right-wing wacko Jim DeMint last week?

Yeah, that Alvin Greene. Good times.

Which reminds me. Check out this list:

-- Mark Sanford (outgoing governor)

-- Nikki Haley (incoming governor)

-- Jim DeMint (junior senator)

-- Lindsey Graham (senior senator)

-- Joe "You lie!" Wilson (representative)

-- J. Gresham Barrett (outgoing representative)

Politically, South Carolina has to be a leading candidate for craziest state in the Union. (Though I'm not sure Oklahoma, with Inhofe and Coburn in the Senate, can be beat.)
