The rationalization express

By Creature

John McCain, stop looking for excuses to justify your slime. First, you go negative and blame it on Obama because he did not agree to your town-hall ruse. Now, you are contemplating putting Reverend Wright back on the table because Congressman Lewis' dared to call you out on your incendiary campaign. This rationalizing is ridiculous. Just admit that you're running a negative campaign because you must, because it's the Republican way, not because your hand was forced or your feelings were hurt. It's really unbecoming.

Just 'aving a laugh

By Creature

"[W]e all ought to relax a little bit. It's, it's a bit of humor." -- Joe Lieberman on Meet the Press.

If you watched the Sunday talk shows today, one thing was clear: to John McCain, and his surrogates, this presidential campaign is all about 'aving a laugh.

Negative ads? Pshaw. We all need to lighten up. Questioning a Senator's patriotism? It's no big deal because we're having fun at the same time. Using troops as props? Who, us? We're just taking a piss. Subtly using race to brand a Senator as scary? Come on, playing on people's racism is so Jon Stewart. Lying to make these points? Please, don't focus on the negative. It's all about the fun.

Except it's not.
