Why do we even bother? Well, because some Democrats apparently think Lieberman is still one of their own. News flash -- he's not:
HOST: Could you see yourself being a Republican or is that...
LIEBERMAN: It's possible.
HOST: ...far-fetched.
LIEBERMAN: Yeah, yeah. No, it's possible. A good old-fashioned New England moderate Republican.
Yeah, yeah, Lieberman is fairly moderate compared to the rest of the Republicans in the Senate, let alone the House, but what's clear -- come on, is it not? -- is that he's not a Democrat, just a nominal one, if even that, to keep his seniority. And the fact that he can see himself as a Republican -- and you know he'll do whatever he needs to do for the sake of his miserable political career, his self-glorified ego and ever-fluctuating whims, and the lingering resentments of his bitter soul -- is just another straw.
Oh, by the way, the camel's been dead for some time.
Allow me, once again, to borrow a hilarious joke from Stewie Griffin (originally directed at Meg): In an attic somewhere, there's a portrait of Joe Lieberman getting prettier.
