How Texans screw themselves

As if it weren't enough that Texans, thanks to a truth-denying campaign of right-wing historical revisionism, are turning themselves, and their children, into an ever more idiotic mass of state-wide ignorance, allowing for an exception here and there, they're now acting blatantly against their very own political and even economic self-interest by refusing in large numbers, especially in Republican areas, to fill out the Census:

File this under "problems that we really should have seen coming": conservatives, egged on by the likes of Reps. Ron Paul (R-Texas) and Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), declining to return census forms and possibly shrinking the political power of states like Texas. The Lone Star State's return rate for census forms, so far, is 27 percent. The national average is 34 percent. And the data are worse for Republican areas...

Contrary to historical trends, some of the toughest challenges facing the agency responsible for measuring the nation's population are not from counting the traditionally undercounted groups such as African-Americans and Latinos. Instead, a new and growing threat to an accurate national head count is coming from anti-government conservatives who may not fill out their forms to protest against "Big Brother" in Washington.

The Houston Chronicle's report looks specifically at Texas, which is counting on the census to gain additional House seats, electoral votes, and federal funding relating to transportation, agriculture, health, education, and housing.

But some anti-government types are shooting themselves in the foot.

They are indeed. Boo-freakin'-hoo. With all due respect to those exceptions, this is hardly any loss to the rest of America, much of which prefers truth over propaganda and enlightenment over abject ignorance.

At Kansas, Jayhawk fans who sign up to pay up to $105,000 over 10 years will earn the right to buy guaranteed top seats for football over the next three decades. In return, the seats themselves will stay locked in at 2010 prices.

Diehard fans can be certain of what they’ll pay to see their favorite team well into the future — and can always sell tickets in the secondary market while taking a tax write-off for donating to a school. Stadium Capital Financing Group, the Chicago company behind the change, says it has the potential to transform how both college and pro teams court their most loyal fans. They’re confident sports mortgages will overtake the personal seat license, which doesn’t necessarily lock in ticket prices.

Oh, John McCain, you faux maverick now sucking up to the right and playing the hardcore partisan to fend off a conservative primary challenge, have you no shame?

Okay, okay, I know. You don't. You picked Palin, after all, unleashing her on an unsuspecting world.

But seriously, calling for the National Guard to guard the border, your border, against all those illegal Mexicans, when you once seemed to be so sensible on immigration reform, a rare light of compassion in an otherwise cruel party of darkness? Really?

You're as transparent as a pane of glass. And conservatives see right through you.

Some of us always knew you were a complete and utter phony. Now you're letting everyone else know, too.

The odds for "with" are probably so high that a responsible bookie wouldn't even take a "without" bet.

Anyway, here's Axelrod:

I haven't given up on Republicans. I do believe that there are Republicans of good conscience who want to work together on issues.

Really? Name five of them. Seriously. Start with five "of good conscience." Then "who want to work together on issues."

Snowe or Collins? Nope. Brown? Not likely, though maybe here and there. Graham? Maybe on climate change, sort of. Cao? Only because he wants to win re-election a Democratic district. Who else is there? Once upon a time, maybe McCain, but no more, not with him veering ever further to the right to ward off a right-wing primary challenge back home.

But that's about it. Look what they did, unanimously, on health-care reform.

I'd say that Axelrod is full of shit, but of course he's not. He knows full well that bipartisanship isn't possible with the Republicans the way they are.

But I suppose he has to say the right things, what with the media's love-in with bipartisanship, and he certainly doesn't want the White House, and his boss (who's certainly smart enough to know what's going on and who plays up bipartisanship because he knows it plays well with the American people -- and if it works, it works, but if it doesn't, the Republicans look bad), to come across as intransigently partisan.

In the end, Democrats will have to go it alone, as they did on health-care reform. You have to be ignorant of political and ideological reality to think otherwise.

Stumblin' Bumblin' John McCain lays odds he'll suspend his campaign again

Maybe he shook hands with Ms. Ya'Bet'cha last week, and hasn't washed since, the ink from her hand causing some level of brain-swelling.

Or maybe, he's just hitting the Stupid Juice again (as he must have done, two-years ago, when he chose The Wasilla Whiz Kid as his running mate).



The Hill has a report today, that Stumblin' Bumblin' John McCain "can draw a scenario" that President Obama is going to fall on his knees, beg the PartyofNoicans for forgiveness, and completely repeal, and rewrite, the Healthcare Reform bill to their liking.

"If the intensity level is as high as it is, I can draw you a scenario where the president would be forced to repeal or really replace it with the provisions [Republicans] wanted," McCain said in an interview with KFYI 550.

At the very least, Republicans could refuse to fund healthcare, the Arizona Republican added.

"You could basically repeal major provisions of it" by refusing to fund them, McCain said.

By the time the Midterms roll around, the only one's carping about the Healthcare Reform Bill will be the PartyofNoicans, and their army of Teabagger puppets.

And, besides, McCain will break his own pledge, of doing nothing for the rest of the year.

I don't know, if he starts dropping in the polls, I smell a "crises" brewing, and that means McCain may have to suspend his campaign, again.

For anyone, about 10-years-old, or older, in 1965, you couldn't escape drooling over, fantasizing about owning one, daydreaming of tooling around in the hippest, sharpest, coolest-looking automobile on the planet.

We speak, of course, about the Ford Mustang.



News came out yesterday, that the designer of the Mustang, Donald Frey, passed away.

Though much of the Mustang was borrowed from other Ford vehicles, including a Falcon chassis, the car developed an identity all its own for a younger generation in search of new looks and experiences. It was designed to appeal to both men and women, had a dash of elegance copied from European sports cars, and featured a galloping steed in the middle of its grille that buyers thought was, well, really cool.

Steve McQueen was almost upstaged by the souped-up Mustang he drove in the movie “Bullitt.’’

Dr. Frey and his team created the car in just 18 months, and expectations were modest when it was introduced on April 17, 1964, at the New York World’s Fair. Ford figured it would sell 80,000 Mustangs in its first year. It sold more than a million in its first two years.

At his death Dr. Frey owned an original Mustang, his son Christopher said, adding that he liked to drive it fast.

At times besieged by autograph seekers for his role with the Mustang,[1] Frey had been most proud of assisting Ford in including safety improvements including disc brakes and radial tires in their lineup.[1] In 1967, TIME called Frey "Detroit’s sharpest idea man".[1]

Frey, who was assistant general manager and and chief engineer of a Ford Motor Company still suffering dry heaves over the Edsel, said he watched GM put bucket seats in the Corvair and rename it Monza, and it began to pick up with customers. There was also the dinner table motivation of his kids telling him his cars stunk.

Frey's first take on the Mustang was a mid-engined convertible in 1962 which, while working with Ford General Manager Lee Iacocca, he would develop into the car introduced to the World's Fair in 1964. When the coupe predicted to sell 80,000 units a year actually sold a million-plus units in its first two years – and then sold and sold and sold – Frey became an American legend. The rest is not just history, it's the present and the future, with the Mustang certain to be a staple in the Ford portfolio for years to come.

Health

Allen was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2000. She underwent a total hysterectomy and some chemotherapy, and is regarded as cancer-free.

Janine Lindemulder

Janine Marie Lindemulder (born November 14, 1968), also known as Janine Marie James, is an American exotic dancer and adult film actress, best known for her work in American pornographic films (typically credited as just Janine) during the mid-1990s and a 2004–2005 comeback.

Early career

She was born in La Mirada, California in 1968. She modeled for Penthouse magazine, making her first appearance in the December 1987 issue, as the Pet of the Month. She appeared several more times in Penthouse over the next ten years, and was chosen as Pet of the Year Runner-Up for 1990.

Lindemulder attempted to take roles in mainstream films early in her career. Her first role came in the 1988 Italian film titled Bersaglio sull'autostrada. Known as Moving Target in English-speaking countries, she was credited as Janine Linde and the film also starred Linda Blair of The Exorcist fame. She went on to act in other mainstream films including Spring Break USA and Caged Fury although neither was very successful. Her appearance in Penthouse led to a role in a video released by that company titled Penthouse Satin & Lace that featured various models from the magazine. This eventually led to her debut in the adult film industry.

Adult film career

Lindemulder made her adult film debut in the 1992 movie Andrew Blake's Hidden Obsessions. She was featured in two more adult movies before joining Vivid Video and becoming one of their contract girls, who are collectively referred to as the Vivid Girls. Within her contract, Lindemulder worked under a girl-only policy which meant she would do adult work only with other women. Her first film with Vivid was titled Parlor Games and she would go on to be featured in over fifty other titles through her run with the company.

During her tenure with Vivid, Lindemulder continued to branch out into other forms of entertainment. She formed half of the exotic dancing duo Blondage, along with Julia Ann, and the duo headlined several videos for Vivid.She received a part on the Howard Stern film Private Parts as the wife of a camp director. She also appeared on Stern's television and radio shows as a featured guest. She also stated her reason for leaving was to focus more on raising her child.Her retirement lasted until April 2004 when she announced that she would be making a comeback and working with men as well as women.She signed with her former company, Vivid Video, and starred in eight films under their brand. Personal life

A homemade video tape of Lindemulder, Vince Neil, and actress/former Penthouse Pet Brandy Ledford (who was mosaically-obscured) was leaked and eventually released by the same company that distributed the infamous sex video made by actress/former Playboy model Pamela Anderson and then-husband rock musician Tommy Lee.

Lindemulder married West Coast Choppers founder Jesse G. James in 2002. Their marriage was documented in the Discovery Channel special Motorcycle Mania 3. The presentation showed a wide range of their relationship: from the marriage ceremony, to Lindemulder throwing a vase at James and being arrested for abuse. Lindemulder and James, who had one daughter together, later divorced.

Janine was arrested in May 2003 after beating Jesse James. Jesse James filed for a temporary restraining order and legal separation from Janine Lindemulder in May 2003 after she attacked him in their Seal Beach, California house. Janine became angry when she arrived back at the house and discovered Jesse loading her possessions into a truck. According to court documents, Jesse said, "She began screaming and yelling at me... and punching me. She punched me in the face several times." Jesse was unable to defend himself because his right arm had just undergone surgery.

According to the court documents, by the time the police arrived, Janine had already hit Jesse in the back of the head with a flowerpot and attacked with a metal sculpture. Jesse also claimed that Janine had attempted to run him over with a vehicle in May 2003 and had punched him in the eye on February 13, 2003.

Jesse James filed for divorce from Janine Lindemulder in October 2003 after being separated since May 2003.

In August 2008, Lindemulder pled guilty to federal charges of willful failure to pay federal income taxes. She had failed to pay over $200,000 in back taxes. She had made a down payment on a $647,000 house and bought two new vehicles, despite being aware of her tax debt. She faced up to one year in prison, and a $100,000 fine.

In December 2008, Lindemulder was sentenced to six months in federal prison. The sentencing judge ordered that she live in a residential community corrections center for up to six months after her release from prison, and, one year of supervised release after that. She was also ordered to pay the estimated $294,000 owed to the U.S. government.She was incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution at Victorville, near Adelanto, California, and was released on July 13, 2009. She was planning to blog from prison by writing letters to her webmaster and complete her GED. She also planned to write books about her lesbian sex with other inmates.

During Lindemulder's incarceration, Jesse James was awarded custody of their daughter. Upon Lindemulder's release, James and Lindemulder engaged in a custody battle over their daughter. James had accused Lindemulder and her new husband, a convicted felon, of being unfit parents. James won custody in December 2009.Lindemulder has weekly visitation rights limited to daytime hours. Her request for expanded visitation rights was denied by an Orange County family court. Since her release from Federal Prison, she has been living in a half-way house in Oregon.

Lindemulder has had sex with women off-camera in the past; Lindemulder's partner in Blondage, Julia Ann, stated that they had had sex together, but described the relationship as "kind of passionate girlfriends."

Originally from Naperville, Illinois, Scott grew up in Chicago, Illinois. About that same time she had her first lesbian encounter, with her best friend.
